Demon Princess: Reign Check

Demon Princess: Reign Check

Cover Reviews:

Nikki Donovan has had a lot to deal with since learning she was half human, half demon. But things take a darker turn when Rhys, a gorgeous– but potentially dangerous– faery king enrolls at her high school to investigate Nikki’s potential for fulfilling an apocalyptic prophecy. Nikki knows she’d never turn violent, and she certainly couldn’t destroy the wrld… could she?

Of course, all Nikki really wants is to be reunited with Michael, a Shadow creature whose status as her personal servant is further complicated by their undeniable attraction to each other. Even though the rules of the Shadowlands strictly forbid their romance, Nikki is determined not to let Michael go. But when she is summoned to the Underworld to appear before a demon council, it will take all her courage– and perhaps a bit of demon-level strength–to get herself out again.

My reviews:

Michelle Rowen brings a whole new meaning to demon princess, when Nikki, is not at all that demonic. In this book, Nikki jungles the arrival of the young, good looking, faery prince Rhys, who has ascended onto human plains to investigate the likes of Nikki Donovan, Darkling. Nikki’s best friend in the Royal Party, Melinda, upon seeing this ‘foreign’ exchange student, is determined to have Rhys for herself. However this changes when Rhys had a little too much at Melinda’s Christmas party, grabbed Nikki and kissed her, under the mistletoe, all under the name of human traditions.

This was not all what Nikki had to cope with… A new prophecy had been released in the demonic realms that the first Darkling of a thousand years will bring downfall on the Dark Realms, and this was also the reason why the Faery and Demon Realms are all out to get her. Nikki handles a demonic meeting where she meets Queen Sephina, Queen of Underworld and company. She found a new friend in the Underworld Princess Kassandra.

In the midst of trying to dissect this new prophecy rumour, Nikki sets out to find a second opinion, a Dragon in the Human World. While this dragon, who surprisingly was Chris Sanders’ Mom, the boy with the awful inappropriate behavious when drunk, did not manage to uncover the first prophecy, she finds out about a second prophecy, while a certain dark shadow encases Nikki and might bring about her downfall… Or does it?

“Possibly a coincidence,” Beasley replied, “Besides, just look at her. She’s way too adorable to be as destructive as the prophecy says she is. Those horns could not be cuter.”
Cockroaches were now my absolute favourite insect.

While everyone was panicking over the first prophecy and going bonkers. And when she finds that she is not the all fearsome Darkling to bring down the worlds on each other, they were all: “Oh I knew that” “I doubted the prophecy” “I always knew you weren’t the one” “The prophecy was faulty” Like please? She was so panicked and she is only 16, while everyone was just piling doubts on her and the fact that her best friend is a Demon Slayer. Major Crash and Burn.

Ratings: Excellent!
